Cancellation and Stay Conditions

These conditions form an integral part of the agreement between the guest and Hotel du Commerce and apply to all individual reservations, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

By confirming a reservation, the guest expressly agrees to these cancellation conditions.

1. Cancellation fees

In the event of cancellation, the following fees will be charged, calculated on the total amount of the stay, including any supplements and services:

  • Cancellation 14 to 8 days before arrival: 50% of the total reservation amount is due.

  • Cancellation 7 to 4 days before arrival: 80% of the total reservation amount is due.

  • Cancellation 3 to 1 day before arrival: 100% of the total reservation amount is due.

  • No show: 100% of the total reservation amount is due.

The arrival date is considered day 0.

2. Cancellation procedure

A cancellation is only valid if communicated in writing by e-mail to the hotel.
The date of receipt by the hotel will be considered the official cancellation date.

3. Payment and collection

The hotel reserves the right to charge the applicable cancellation fees to the credit card provided at the time of booking or to issue an invoice.
In case of non-payment, administrative and collection costs may be charged in accordance with Belgian law.

4. Cancellation insurance

Hotel du Commerce offers an optional cancellation insurance at a rate of €5 per person per night.

If this insurance has been duly taken out at the time of booking:

  • the reservation may be cancelled free of charge, or

  • postponed once to a new date, subject to availability and in accordance with the hotel’s conditions.

The cancellation insurance can only be taken out at the time of booking via the hotel’s official website.
It cannot be added retroactively after the reservation has been confirmed.

5. Reservations via third parties

Reservations made through external partners or booking platforms are subject to the cancellation and payment conditions of the respective partner, unless otherwise confirmed in writing by Hotel du Commerce.

6. Force majeure

In the event of force majeure, as defined under Belgian law, the hotel reserves the right to modify or cancel the reservation without compensation. Any amounts already paid will be refunded or converted into a credit, in consultation with the guest.

7. Applicable law and jurisdiction

All agreements with Hotel du Commerce are governed exclusively by Belgian law.
Any disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district in which Hotel du Commerce is located.
